About
Built for people who won't pick one
Mass in Motion is a training and nutrition app for people who lift and run and refuse to give up either. It plans both in the same week, watches your recovery, tracks the food that fuels it all, and adjusts as your training and your life change.
Why it exists
The apps we tried all had the same blind spot. A good lifting app has no idea what your running is doing to your legs. A good running app doesn't know you squatted heavy yesterday. Recovery apps hand you data but rarely tell you what to change because of it. And the new wave of "AI coaching" apps will confidently schedule a hard interval run the day after your heaviest leg day and tell you it looks fine.
Mass in Motion started as the app our founder wanted and couldn't find: one that treats lifting and running as parts of the same plan, factors recovery into what it tells you to do next, and is built on real programming logic instead of a chatbot improvising. There's more of that story on the founder's page.
Who it's for
Hybrid athletes, lifters training for a race, runners who don't want to lose their strength, and anyone tired of stitching two apps together and hoping the week adds up. You don't need to be advanced: you tell it your goal and what you've got to work with, and it handles the programming.
What we believe
Training doesn't happen in a vacuum, so the plan shouldn't either. Your week should hold together as one thing, not a pile of hard days that ignore each other. Recovery should change the plan, not just sit in a chart. And you should be able to trust the app to give you the same sensible answer in the same situation, which is why nothing here is generated by a language model.
Who's behind it
Mass in Motion is built by Brandon Lemley and developed by Mass in Motion LLC. It's an independent company, not affiliated with any government or public health program. You can read the full founder story on the about the founder page.
